Trust in the You of Now explored a meditation on identity and environment; how the spaces we choose for ourselves shape our sense of self, and how a temporary immersion in nature can facilitate a deepening of that internal connection. Ferns and vines suspended from the ceiling and tropical plant-filled white, wooden planters, transformed the space into a lush garden. Two swings and lounge beds were placed among the plants, for participants to engage with. The installation was encircled by seven large, color photographs. Both the creation of the installation & photographs, and time spent inside the space, are meditative practices to explore the ways in which our chosen environment inhibits or supports us in becoming our most authentic self.
This interactive installation was on view at Space 15-Twenty in Hollywood, CA from April 17-27, 2015.
